1. My brother and Jason had a five minute heated discussion / argument about the future of Devon Harris. This includes a complete breakdown of all the other alternatives in the Western Division. For the record, Scott is pro-Devon and Jason would rather have five other guards before Devon.
2. Mom really, and I mean REALLY, likes garlic bread. Jason feels equally passionately about crab claws. Do not get between either one of them and the last of these items. On the note of food passions, I am proud to report that J. has successfully kicked a 2 - 3 Dr. Pepper per day habit. It was quite similar to quitting the crack, which even included a dream about Dr. Pepper, but I think we are through the worst of it now. (Not that either of us have ever had such a withdrawal, but it was very serious with daily discussions of how badly he needed one)
3. Sometimes Jason evacuates the premise and "The Machine" shows up. This version of my husband is more like a "frat boy" and less like the calm and conservative man who I share the house with. "The Machine" throws his inhibitions to the wind and even sometimes does THE BEST imitation of my Dad. Dad has never seen this, but trust me, it is spot on. "The Machine" is most likely to show up on a Friday night after Jason has worked from home and had the whole day to himself to unwind.
4. Dad has the best laugh! Period. I love that Dad seems to be happier and mellower with every passing day.
5. To further point #4, my parents seem to be happier together with every passing day. It truly brings joy to see how people this OLD can continue to be so in love. (Kidding Mom and Dad) Seriously though, Scott and I are blessed to call them Mom and Dad, Gran Kakky and Wonderful One, or whatever it is we are currently calling them.
6. While posing for a family picture, Jason thought it would be cute to do a "prom pose." Apparently everyone else changed their mind, but we held strong. See below for further clarification.
