My heart hurts today...

As i've mentioned here before, the mother of one of my oldest and dearest friends - Whitney Freeman - is fighting for her life right now against cancer. She was enrolled in a clinical trial at MD Anderson which was having amazing results until about three weeks ago when her kidneys began to fail. Long story short - she is now on dialysis and has had to stop all chemo until the doctors can get this under control.

As i write this, she is finally on her way back home from Houston to Dallas via ambulance. I am heartsick for all of them, and wish I could do something to take away just a little of the pain Michelle is experiencing. She has been such a fighter for the past five years since her diagnosis. The hope is her kidneys will begin functioning enough to go back on chemotherapy of some sort. I know it causes great anxiety to the family to know they currently aren't able to do anything to stop the further spread. God willing, she'll be able to start some new treatment very soon.

Please join me in praying for their family, as well as for wisdom for the doctors. One thing I know for sure, the family's love for each other and steadfast faith in His will has inspired literally countless others since August 2004.
